As you must already know, there are many types of genres and styles of music. What we like is totally dependent on our own style or choices of sound.
Hey all, Glenn here with The Best Guitar World.
I thought we would take a step back from the instrument itself today, and look at a few different types of music that could possibly inspire us to become that Guitarist we always wanted to be. I am not saying you will play like Eric Clapton, or Brad Paisley tomorrow, But, I can guarantee you, you will Never play like either of these musicians if you do not make the commitment to at least learn, or try!
Having said that, learning to play a guitar can be a lot of fun. Applying what you learn, as you learn, could actually be your inspiration to continue and improve. Imagine implementing something you learned and it sounded good. No, wait, imagine implementing something you learned and it sounded “GREAT” By loving what you are doing, and hearing the improvements as you progress, and hearing your friends and family say….that sounds Awesome, is the Best way to get More and More motivate. This will drive you to get even better, and still have lots of Fun doing it.
Don’t Frustrate Yourself
Easier said than done, right? I know, I have been there. But here’s the thing. If you just picked up a guitar, and you are just learning to play it, I wouldn’t advise trying to learn the solos to Stairway To Heaven or Hotel California right away. There are unique techniques and skills involved, and this will only lead to Major Frustration, and something you certainly do not want to deal with starting out.
The best guitar songs for beginners are obviously the ones that are easy to play. Songs that you can learn fairly easily, and songs that both you and your family or friends enjoy. I will leave you with a list of songs that may be quite easy for you to play at the end of this Article.
What Kind Of Music Motivates You?
We all get a sense of calm when we hear our favorite songs. We tend to pay more attention to those that have a meaning Whether it be Country Music, Hard Rock, Jazz, etc. If we were able to play our favorite tunes without even thinking about it, how great would that be?
Really, one of my all time favorite songs is Pride & Joy by Stevie Ray Vaughan. I’ve been playing for about 50 years, and I just recently learned the intro to this song recently.
What I can tell you is this…my feeling of satisfaction, playing that intro without a pause or error, was Amazing. It has been about 1 year since I started trying to learn tabs, and scales. I feel a lot more confident in what I know about playing the guitar, BUT, it is still so much Fun.
Find a genre that speaks to you. Find a song that speaks to you. Decide where you want to go with your guitar playing, and then find an easy song or 2 that you can learn. The feeling of pure satisfaction when you are able to make a song sound good when you play it…..
The Best Guitar Songs For Beginners
As I promised earlier, below is a list of songs that belong to a few different genres. These tunes are fairly easy to learn to play. Choose one that speaks the most to you. One that you enjoy. One that your family and friends know. Learn it, practice it, and just see how it feels. You won’t regret it! And remember, all you need to learn is the chords. Try this list and forget about the solos and the riffs. The chords are fairly easy. Once you learn the chords, you can try adding in the tabs / licks / etc.
As the great Jimmy Page once said……..
I may not believe in myself, but I believe in what I’m doing.
